The difference between the Australian Shepherd and the American Shepherd

If you’ve read about the Australian Shepherd dog breed in general, you probably know that this dog isn’t really Australian. Aussie heritage is linked to Spain, then Australia, and then the United States. But all that does not make him a Spanish shepherd or an American shepherd.

Although similar in appearance, the American Shepherd is a different breed of dog. Unlike the Miniature Australian Shepherd, the Miniature American Shepherd has been officially recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Most of the people often confuse the two dog breeds because they look almost the same.
